The prestigious MICHELIN Guide has introduced its MICHELIN Key awards in Greece, for the first time, marking a significant milestone for the country’s luxury hospitality industry. The awards, which were first launched globally in 2023, aim to highlight hotels that provide outstanding hospitality experiences and have now made their debut in the Greek market. In this inaugural selection, hotels awarded One MICHELIN Key stand out for their distinctive character and exceptional level of hospitality—qualities that both Myconian Panoptis Escape and Myconian Utopia Resort exemplify.
Recognising the Myconian Collection’s Commitment to Excellence

The MICHELIN Key Awards in Greece
This year marks the inaugural selection of MICHELIN Key awards for Greece, further establishing the country as a distinguished destination for high-end hospitality. Much like the renowned MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys represent the pinnacle of hotel excellence, awarded following meticulous evaluation by MICHELIN Inspectors. The Greek selection showcases an impressive range of accommodations across the mainland and islands, with ratings spanning from One to Three Keys. The awarded properties include boutique hotels, historic grand establishments, luxury resorts, and secluded island retreats.
The MICHELIN Guide has expanded its focus beyond restaurants to recognise hotels that provide exceptional experiences, bringing its signature expertise in quality and distinction to the hospitality industry.
These distinguished hotels were selected from over 200 Greek accommodations featured in the broader MICHELIN Guide selection. To ensure the utmost credibility and impartiality, MICHELIN Inspectors conducted numerous anonymous stays and visits, applying the same rigorous and unbiased standards used in their global assessments. Evaluated based on five essential criteria—architecture and interior design, quality of service, personality and character, value for money, and contribution to the local experience—this distinction highlights the most outstanding properties worldwide.
The awards are structured into three tiers:
Three MICHELIN Keys: Hotels so extraordinary that they become destinations in their own right.
Two MICHELIN Keys: Hotels offering a truly remarkable stay where outstanding design, service, and experience converge.
One MICHELIN Key: Hotels with distinctive character and an exceptional level of hospitality.
The MICHELIN Key distinction, introduced globally in 2023, evaluates hotels based on five key criteria:
✔ Architectural and interior design
✔ Quality of service
✔ Personality and character
✔ Value for money
✔ Contribution to the local experience
