Enriching Our Mykonos Community through Education
Rooted deeply in the fertile soil of Mykonos, we recently realised an ambitious project that epitomises our commitment to social responsibility. Our family-owned hospitality group proudly constructed and donated a state-of-the-art Gymnasio secondary school to the local community in Ano Mera, the island’s second-largest settlement. This innovative and eco-friendly institution began hosting lessons for hundreds of students, reflecting our enduring dedication to enhancing the lives of Mykonos’ youth.
The newly constructed Gymnasio stands as a beacon of knowledge for students aged 12 to 15, offering a comprehensive learning environment tailored to the unique needs of our community. The school boasts 13 spacious and luminous classrooms, each equipped with cutting-edge smart technology and capable of accommodating up to 20 students. With a total capacity to serve 200 students and dozens of educators, the facility is a vibrant hub of educational activity that integrates sustainable practices and pioneering energy-saving technologies.
In addition to classrooms, the school features workshops for technology and information science, natural science laboratories, and sports facilities, including basketball courts. It also includes a large, multipurpose space for assemblies and events, all designed to be accessible and in harmony with the traditional architecture of Mykonos.
Understanding the importance of teacher welfare, we also constructed 18 residences adjacent to the school. These homes provide high-quality, convenient accommodation for teaching staff, offering peace of mind and contributing to a nurturing educational environment.
