At the vanguard of Greek culinary landscape, the Efisia Fine Dining restaurant has been a catalyst for the upgrading of the quality of Greek cuisine. It comes as no surprise that the leading authority on its evolution, the Greek Cuisine Restaurant Awards rewarded the work put forward by Executive Chef, Elias Maslaris and his team.
The awards are bestowed upon only the most distinguished restaurants of the country and Efisia has won its place among the most brilliant tables that work towards that mission, the culinary recreation of Greek gastronomy. The epicurean diamond of the Myconian Ambassador Relais & Chateaux can take pride in its own contribution to that. Scoring an impressive 14 from the selection panel, it showcased its creative farm-to-table philosophy at the ceremony that took place on the 7th June, 2022 in Thessaloniki.
In tribute to the natural environment, Efisia is named after the Greek word physis (φύσις), the philosophical term for ‘nature’ and aims at pairing a culinary experience with luxurious atmosphere. Offering world-class gastronomic delights in a mesmerizing environment set in the renowned Platis Gialos beach, the restaurant is highly ranked among the top tables on the island thanks to its degree of expertise, exemplary service and innovative approach.
My grandmother lived in a small village in the mainland mountains and her kitchen was the engine room of the house. One of her specialities that I like to serve is traditional slow-cooked lamb, marinated in herbs. But the special ingredient that will always make hers taste better than mine is of course the sweetness of memories.
The executive chef, Elias Maslaris is passionate about infusing classics with regional flavours and reveres the process of using seasonal organic produce to create world-class cuisine. He is dedicated to preserving the purity of his ingredients, creating subtle and at times surprising combinations.
The annual awards serve to celebrate and reward culinary excellence across the country highlighting the exemplary concept in menu and food styling, as well as the innovative techniques used to recreate the traditional Greek cuisine.
